Manali is situated in the mountains of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a popular tourist destination located in the Kullu district, about 270 km north of the state capital, Shimla and approximately at the distance of 550 KMs from the National Capital New Delhi. The small town, with a population of 8,096 is the beginning of an ancient trade route to Ladakh. It serves as the gateway to Lahaul & Spiti district as well as Leh.

The average temperature during summer is between 10 °C (50 °F) and 26 °C (79 °F), and between −15 °C (5 °F) and 12 °C (54 °F) in the winter.
Manali is well connected by Road & Airway. By road is well connected with New Delhi on NH-1 till Ambala and on NH-22 from Chandigarh. The nearest airport Bhuntar Airport is at Bhuntar town, situated on NH21 about 50 km from Manali and 10 km from Kullu town. The Nearest railway station connectivity would be Chandigarh which is at the distance of approx 320 Kms.
One Can visit this picturesque town of Manali anytime of the year however the best time to visit Manali is from May to July (Summers) , December To January (Winter, During Snowfall) and during the Dusshera festival season.
